Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Thank you for visiting my newly opened website. 

 

I provide Speech and Language Therapy for Adults with neurological diseases, and traumatic or acquired brain injury, including Stroke.

I can assess and provide evidence-based therapy for dysarthria (unintelligible speech), aphasia (language impairment), as well as dysphagia (swallow impairment).

I offer both teletherapy via Zoom as well as face-to-face home visits locally to Derbyshire.  

 

I work alongside my clients to develop a therapy plan specifically to suit their needs and interests, whilst continually reviewing the efficacy; developing and adapting where necessary. 

About Me

  • Masters in Health Care Practice (Distinction) at The University of Greenwich - Dissertation Project: 'A Literature Review: Systematically Exploring the Barriers and Benefits of Teletherapy for People with Aphasia.' 

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy (Merit) at the University of Greenwich 

  • Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Comparative Literature, Language and Linguistics (2:1) at the University of Kent

Experience:

  • Remote locum Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (temporary contracts) for: Virgin Care - North Kent Community, Oxford Health Learning Disability NHS Team, and a London Neuro-Charity

  • Lead Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for Priory Health Care, Burton Park Brain Injury Hospital

  • Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for MoreRehab, Private rehabilitation therapy in the Community and Clinic

  • Speech and Language Therapist for Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust, working in the Early Supported Stroke Discharge Team and Community, including Community Hospital wards.

Pre-Qualified Experience:

  • Speech and Language Therapy Assistant at Fairlie Healthcare, Nursing Home for People with Neurological Progressive Conditions

  • Volunteer for Headway, Surrey
